An opportunity to visit a Spanish military ship which has sailed to Sligo for the festival and to honour the memory of the Spanish Armada sailors and soldiers who died at Streedagh in 1588. This ship requires deepwater facilities, the nearest of which are at Killybegs in County Donegal. Note that this is the first year that members of the public have been allowed to board the ship, and this promises to be a fascinating experience for those interested in maritime and military affairs.
Bus to leave Grange at 2pm for Killybegs, returning at 6pm. You will arrive in Killybegs at 3pm and be ferried aboard the OPV, a Spanish naval vessel which has sailed as part of the Remembering the Armada festival. Onboard tour. Lunch and transportation included in the price. Online booking unavailable - contact Eddie O’Gorman 086 0802623 to book.
